HAIR TRENDS YOU SHOULD TRY THIS YEAR

HAIR TRENDS YOU SHOULD TRY THIS YEAR

2019 should be all about the experimentation. We are starting to see old trends begin to creep back, but with a modern twist on some of them. If you are trying to decide what look to get the next time you hit up the salon, here are some hair trends you must try this year.

BLUNT BOBS

Blunt bobs have made a comeback thanks to celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Karlie Kloss rocking them on the red carpet lately. Shorter, more blunt looks are going to start to be the norm, and we are going to see a shift away from the more layered look. The mid-length boyfriend bob had its time in the sun last year, but this year’s look might be edgier, and a little bit longer.

Regardless of your face shape, this haircut is flattering – it all just depends on how you style it. If you have thinner hair, this look can thicken it up, or if you have thick hair, it can make your look a little softer; it all depends on how you style it. Once you do get it cut, make sure to ask your stylist for advice on how to best style your new look, especially if you went from long hair to shorter.

GLOSSY HAIR

This look might look like it is impossible to recreate, but you can achieve the “glass” hair look with just a bit of effort on your part. The trend started to make an appearance on Instagram last year and has since then increased in popularity.

To recreate this look, wash your hair with a high-quality anti-frizz cleanser and conditioner, like this one from Rene Fris. You should not skip this step and always use products that are sulfate-free because sulfates can strip natural oils from your hair, making your locks more dry and brittle, which is exactly what you don’t want. Once your hair is blow-dried, use a round brush to help smooth out the look and get that clean finish.

GRAY HAIR

Whether you are dying your hair gray, or just embracing your natural grays, people are loving the look. Pinterest searches for “going gray” increased by an astounding 879% this year, so you should expect more people to start sporting this look. No matter what your age is, you can rock the gray!

TOP KNOTS

Top knots have long been popular, and they are going to make a comeback. Chanel’s Fall 2018 ready-to-wear show definitely had a hand in that increase. The models rocked this look, and since then, we have seen more and more people with this look.

To perfect this lock, the trick is to make it look like you simply threw your hair into the bun. Use a styling cream like this one from Rene Fris’ line  First, tie your hair into a ponytail before twisting it into a bun. That way, the ends can remain loose and messy.

LILAC HAIR

Lilac hair is another one that has become mainstream in the past few months. Searches for lilac hair increased by 1077% in 2018. If you want this look, make sure to use a trusted stylist who has experience doing this type of dye job. You can even get this look temporarily if you don’t want to make the switch permanently.
