Bio

Rene Fris is one of the world’s most sought after hair stylists and experts in the field of beauty and grooming – changing lives with his uncanny ability to uncover individuals’ personal style and empowering people to look, feel, and be their best.

His talent tracking beauty trends and developing and maintaining the iconic looks of celebrities and royalty around the world have landed Rene notable roles on television as the former Mentor and Co-Host of Bravo TV’s American hit “Shear Genius” and the Grooming Specialist on Europe’s “Queen Eye for the Straight Guy,” and currently as a frequent fashion and beauty guide and contributor on “Good Morning America,” “The CBS Early Show,” “Today,” and “E! News” in America.

In addition to his ever-expanding international television career, which now includes the development of several reality television shows in the States, Rene is the best-selling author of two grooming books in Europe, the New York Sunday Style Columnist for Denmark’s leading daily newspaper, and the former Editor-in-Chief of Hair Style and Beauty magazine.

He also manages his own successful lines of beauty and hair care products and tools sold exclusively in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.

Philosophy

Rene’s professional focus, however, remains helping people both as a mentor – who has shaped the careers of hundreds of stylists as the former owner and operator of his own salon in Europe, head stylist at New York’s Elizabeth Arden’s Saks 5th Avenue Red Door Salon, and as a celebrity stylist for John Frieda Salons – and as a working hairstylist.

“I love translating the secret code of beauty,” explains Rene whose work in front of the camera as a Ford model and television personality has taught him that true beauty comes from within. “Beauty is not simply a stylish haircut or new make-up. Beauty is about creating a complete head-to-toe look that reveals a person’s personality and allows inner beauty and self-confidence to shine through.”

A resident of the world, Rene was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark and has lived and worked in Sydney, Tokyo, Milan, Paris, Los Angeles, and Miami. Since 1999, he has called New York his home.

He sees regular clients at a top salon in New York, travels to Denmark’s Salon Project No. 1 several times a year, and finds himself jetting off to handle commercial work, including fashion magazine shoots, and style his list of international A-list clients.

Rene’s latest project – ReneFris.com – enables Rene to bring his unique “whole person” approach to style to clients around the world through a first-of-its-kind web-based consultation service.
